Accessibility statement

The site is designed so people can use its financial information and tools across a range of devices, input methods and assistive technologies.

Accessibility approach

We aim for practical conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA and use the US Department of Justice web accessibility guidance as an important reference. Accessibility is considered during design, development, content writing and testing.

This statement describes a good-faith technical target, not a certification that every page works perfectly with every browser or assistive technology.

Measures in the product

  • Semantic page structure and a consistent heading order.
  • Keyboard access, visible focus indicators and a skip link.
  • Programmatic labels, instructions and text-based error messages for forms.
  • Color contrast and information that does not rely on color alone.
  • Responsive layouts, usable touch targets and support for text zoom.
  • Text summaries for important calculator results and charts.
  • Focus management for dialogs and reduced-motion support.

Keyboard use

Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move through controls, Enter or Space to activate supported controls and Escape to close supported dialogs. Focus order is intended to follow the reading and task order.

Testing

Key flows are checked with automated accessibility testing, keyboard navigation and visual review at desktop and mobile sizes. Automated tools do not find every barrier, so reports from people using assistive technology are especially valuable.

Known limitations

  • Detailed chart exploration may be less convenient with some assistive technologies even when a text summary is available.
  • Wide financial tables may require horizontal scrolling on a small screen.
  • Downloaded CSV or JSON files and content hosted by third parties may have different accessibility support.

Report a barrier or request help

Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, the barrier you encountered and, if useful, the browser or assistive technology involved. Do not include passwords or sensitive financial records.
