Scope and operator
The Money Workbench is an independently operated website.
This policy applies to this website, its calculators, accounts, saved scenarios, contact form and related services. Third-party websites and services follow their own privacy policies.
For privacy questions or requests, go to the contact page.
Information processed in your browser
Calculator inputs and results are processed in your browser. If you save a scenario or financial profile without signing in, the information is stored locally on that browser and device. It is not sent to site analytics.
Local storage may also remember interface settings, privacy choices and limited workflow state. You can remove this information through the site's controls or your browser settings.
Do not enter Social Security numbers, tax identification numbers, account or routing numbers, passwords, full addresses, a child's name or full birth date. The service does not need those details.
Account and cloud data
If account features are enabled and you sign in, the authentication provider processes information needed to identify and secure the account, such as your email address, provider identifier, account identifier and technical security information.
Saved scenarios and financial-profile information may be stored in a dedicated Google Cloud or Firebase project so you can use them across devices. Account data is separated by a user identifier and protected by access rules. The operator does not use exact financial-profile values for advertising or send them to analytics.
You choose whether to create an account. The core calculators can be used without one unless a future feature clearly states otherwise.
Contact and support information
The contact form processes the name, email address, subject and message you provide. It may also process limited technical and security information, such as an IP address, request time, browser headers, request identifier and abuse-protection token.
This information is used to deliver and answer the message, maintain a support record, prevent spam and abuse, troubleshoot delivery and protect the service. Do not include passwords, tax documents, government identifiers or detailed financial records.
Technical, security and operational data
Hosting, content-delivery, authentication and security providers may automatically process IP addresses, timestamps, device or browser details, requested URLs, error information and security signals. This information is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, enforce limits and maintain security.
The site does not intentionally place your name, email address or exact financial values in public page URLs or analytics event parameters.
Analytics and cookies
When Google Analytics is configured and you permit analytics, the site may send page paths, general device information, approximate location derived by the provider and limited product events to understand traffic, performance and feature use. Exact balances, debts, income, contact-form text and precise ages are not permitted analytics parameters.
The footer privacy control lets you reopen the site's privacy choices and withdraw analytics permission. Necessary storage and security technologies may operate without analytics consent when they are required to provide a feature you request or protect the service.
Advertising and similar technologies
The site displays or may display advertising through one or more advertising providers. Those providers may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device information and pseudonymous identifiers to deliver, limit, measure, protect or personalize ads, depending on your location and choices.
The site will not send exact calculator inputs, saved financial-profile values, contact messages or account email addresses to an advertising provider for ad targeting. Advertising must remain separated from private account and calculator data.
Where applicable law treats advertising activity as a sale, sharing or targeted advertising, the site provides an applicable opt-out mechanism. Applicable universal opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control, are honored where required. You may also use the site's privacy controls and the provider's own advertising settings.
How information is used
- Provide calculations, saved scenarios, account synchronization and support you request.
- Authenticate users, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce limits and maintain security.
- Measure site use and reliability when analytics is permitted.
- Display, select, limit, measure and protect advertising when legally permitted.
- Investigate errors, enforce terms, respond to legal process and protect rights and safety.
- Improve, test, change or discontinue content and product features using aggregated or appropriately limited information.
Service providers and disclosures
Information may be processed by providers that support hosting, content delivery, security, authentication, cloud storage, analytics, email delivery, customer support and advertising. Providers may include Google services such as Firebase, Google Cloud, reCAPTCHA and Google Analytics, Cloudflare for network delivery and security, and one or more advertising networks or demand partners.
Providers receive information only for the functions they perform and process it under their own contracts and privacy terms. The provider list and the specific services used may change as the site changes.
Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process, enforce terms, investigate misuse, protect rights or safety, or complete a financing, reorganization, sale or transfer of all or part of the service. A successor must handle covered personal information consistently with applicable law.
No sale of private financial inputs
The operator does not sell the exact calculator inputs, saved financial profile or contact-message content you provide. This statement does not prevent disclosed use of advertising technologies, which some state laws may define as a sale, sharing or targeted advertising even when no money is paid for personal information.
Retention
Browser data remains until you delete it, clear site data or the browser removes it. Cloud profiles and saved scenarios generally remain while the account is active or until deletion is requested. Account deletion initiates deletion of supported cloud profile and scenario data.
Support, security and operational records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, including responding to a request, preventing abuse, resolving disputes, maintaining backups and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods may differ by record type, provider and legal requirement.
Security
The service uses safeguards such as encrypted transport, access controls, account separation, abuse protection and restricted cloud permissions. No website, transmission or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Keep your device, email account, authentication methods and exported backups secure.
Your choices and US state privacy rights
You can use supported controls to delete local data, export data, withdraw analytics permission and delete an account. Depending on your state and whether its law applies to the operator, you may also have rights to know, access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, and to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising or certain profiling.
A request may require reasonable verification. An authorized agent may need to provide proof of authority. The operator may retain or withhold information when an exception applies. You will not be discriminated against for exercising an applicable privacy right.
If the operator denies an appealable privacy request, the response will explain how to appeal where required. Use the contact page and select the privacy topic to submit a request or appeal.
For privacy questions or requests, go to the contact page.
Children
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. The operator does not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. Do not create an account for a child or enter a child's name, contact information or full birth date.
If you believe a child provided personal information, contact the site so it can be reviewed and deleted as appropriate.
International processing
The US service is designed for users in the United States. The operator and service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Those locations may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live.
Changes to this policy
The operator may update this policy when the service, business model, providers or legal requirements change. The current version and update date will appear here. Material changes will receive any additional notice or consent required by law.
See the terms of use and financial and commercial disclosures for related information.
